How old must I be to reserve a room at Surfing Etxea?

Guests must be at least 18 years of age to book a room. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Where is Surfing Etxea?

We’re located in Zabaleta St nº32, San Sebastian 20002.

How close is Surfing Etxea to the beach?

One (short) block! Beach towels are available at the front desk. A small deposit is required.

How do I get to Surfing Etxea from San Sebastian airport (EAS)?

Public Transit($): If you’re flying into (EAS), take the bus E21 from Airport Flyer directly to the center of San Sebastian. They leave every 60 minutes, 7 days a week from 7am-21:45pm and will drop you off in the main bus station of San Sebastian. The fare is 2’45€ and exact change is required. +info

Taxi ($$): Expect to pay approximately 30€

Suttle ($$): The transfer will be in a luxury car which we will make available to you.
Just have to let us know by email including your Flight details and we will pick up you from the airport.

Public Transit($): If you’re flying into Bilbao (BIO), take the bus to San Sebastian form Airport Flyer (about 1 hour) They leave every 60 minutes, 7 days a week from 6am-00:00am and will drop you off in the main bus station of San Sebastian. The fare is 17€ and exact change is required. +info

Suttle ($$): The transfer will be in a luxury car which we will make available to you.

How do I get to Surfing Etxea by bus?

The San Sebastián bus station has lines to cities throughout Spain and part of Europe.

How do I get to Surfing Etxea by train?

The train station in the centre of San Sebastián, the «Estación del Norte», offers connections to numerous Spanish cities including Madrid and Barcelona, and to international destinations such as Paris and Lisbon.

Does Surfing Etxea provide parking?

There’s no private parking onsite, but street parking is available at 2€/hr +-, 7 days a week. Street parking is free from 13:00pm – 15:30pm and from 20:00pm – 9:00am.
We provide a private parking 2 min walking from the Hostel for 19€/24h

Does Surfing Etxea provide lockers?

Each bed has its own locker-drawer in each room, for personal use. You must use the locker-drawer corresponding to the number of your bed. Don’t use another guest’s locker.
Size: 920 mm wide, 540 mm high and 800 mm depth.

Does Surfing Etxea have WiFi?

Yes, and it’s always free.

What is the cancellation policy?

– You may cancel free of charge until 14 days before arrival.
– If you cancel or modify your booking before 14 days arrival you’ll lose the 30% of the booking.
– If you cancel or modify the booking in the last 48h before the arrival, 100% of the booking will be charged to your credit card.
– If you don’t show up without previous notice, 100% of the booking will be charged to your credit card.

What is the FLEXIBLE RATE policy

All individual bookings made before 15th April 2020 and arriving before 15th Jun 2020 are subject to a flexible booking clause whereby bookings can be re-booked for any date before 30th December 2020. Please note that any modification to existing reservations will be subject to availability and any rate difference.

Room cleaning

The rooms are cleaned from 12h to 14h every day.

Kitchen

Cook is not allowed in the kitchen (there not fires) the use is just to prepare easy things (breakfast, salads, sandwiches…). Just clean up after yourself as well as the cutlery you might use. It’s forbidden to use from 23h to 7h.

Security

For your security, our staff will do 2 control shifts, between 22h and 23h, and another one between 4 and 5 am. Please take into consideration that the first shift includes room checks too. At the same time, we have security cameras at the hostels entrances.

Visitors

Please receive your visitors in hostel bar/lobby. It’s forbidden to have friends or visitors in the rooms, as they’re exclusively for hostel clients. Between 00:00h and 8:00am, the hostel lobby will only be available for guests.

Smoking Forbidden

Smoking is forbidden in the hostel, to ensure maximum comfort for all the guests.

Food & Drink

It’s forbidden to bring food or drinks up to the rooms, at any time of the day, except for water.

Noise

Please keep silence from 23h onwards, especially in the rooms.

Responsibility

Surfing Etxea is not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to your equipment and belongings while you stay at our hostel. Please use the locker that you’re entitled to in the room. Drugs are completely forbidden, and it will be our duty to call the police if you consume them or have them here at the hostel.

Pets

Are not allowed in Surfing Etxea. If you need a Pet Hotel we have the best one in San Sebastian.

Payment

Please note that we only accept cash and VISA or Mastercard payments. We do not accept American Express, Diners Club or any other card.
If the name of the card used to make the reservation is different from the name of the person who is going to stay, we will ask that a copy of the card be sent to us as well as an identity document of the card owner. If we do not receive this documentation by Check-in time, the person who will be staying will be asked to make the full payment of the stay with their own credit card.

Damages or damages to Surfing Etxea

The establishment will ask those guests who cause damage due to inappropriate behavior during their stay to take care of any damage. The corresponding amount will be charged to the guest’s credit card.

Alcohol

Is not served to persons under 18 years of age. Alcohol is available in the bar and can only be consumed there and in designated areas. Guests are not allowed to bring their own alcohol to the Surfing Etxea facilities.

No drugs

Drugs are illegal in Spain. If any guest consumes drugs in any part of the building, they will be forced to leave the premises. No refund will be issued

Groups

we do not accept groups of more than 8 people contact us before the arrival if is possible to book for your group

Common sense

The comfort and safety of our guests is very important to us. Any guest who, in the opinion of our staff, compromises the comfort or safety of other guests, staff or local residents will be invited to leave our premises and no refund will be issued. Guests are expected to respect other guests, as well as staff, local residents, and property.

Stag Parties

We do not accept stag parties (we carefully we can cancel the booking with any refund.
